Jessica "JAG" Aguilar
Record--- 4-1
Currently ranked 6th in the world in the 115lb weight division, this tenacious mix martial artist is quickly climbing the ranks!
Born in Veracruz, Mexico, raised in Houston, Texas, Jessica now calls Coconut Creek, Fl home.
To be the best, you must train with the best! This is exactly why Jessica trains exclusively at one of the BEST facilities in the world, American Top Team. She is a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and trained under Marcos “Parrumpinha” DaMatta, 3rd degree black belt under Carlson Gracie and head Jiu Jitsu instructor. Parrumpinha, describes her as mentally tough, dedicated student who will one day be the “best in the world”.
Success comes in time. However, this is not necessarily the case when it comes to “jag”. With all of her success, it is difficult to believe that Jessica has only been in this sport for a year and a half! Her first bout took place after only two months of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training and five days of Mix Martial Art training. Opportunity presented its self when a replacement was needed for Erica Montoya in the AFC (Absolute Fighting Championship) 15 card. Jessica, stepped up against Lisa Ward who was ranked in the top 10 in the world at the time. Although, no one expected the fight to go past the first round, Jessica, put on a strong showing which became the fight of the night. Her first bout, her first loss, her first taste of the MMA world opened many doors of opportunities. Jag:)’s, next fight was against Lindsey Ketchum at the CFC1 (Combat Fighting Championship) brought her victory by TKO. Her success continued with a win by submission in CFC2. A victory over Sumie Sakai (a pro wrestler and mix martial artist from Japan) by decision at CFC3 brought Jessica international recognition. Her success was sweetened by yet another win by submission over Angela Magana at WFC3 (World Fighting Championship, Turf War III), March of 2007.
The transition into the Bodog Fights brought about drastic changes, for Jessica as she had to gain 15lbs in order to be competitive in this arena. After a tough battle, Jessica lost by decision to Karina Damm.
Her next bout will take place November 30 in Moscow, Russia against Julia Berezekova.
The Sky’s the limit for this tough minded, courageous warrior! Keep an eye out as she climbs the rankings to the top prize!
